Children and Young People’s Groups |
|
We have three groups on weekday evenings for children in the community. In each group one of the leaders gives a talk from the Bible, so as to help the children understand the Christian life but we also have active games, crafts and outings. ZIG ZAG School reception year to year 2 Mondays 4.30-5.30 pm in the church hall. YOYO School years 3-5. Fridays 5.30-6.30pm in the church hall. FRIDAY-X School year 6 to year 11 Friday night, from 7–8.30pm in the church hall.
BIBLE TEACHING FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS CHILDRENS HOUSEGROUPS Children’s Housegroups meet every other Sunday afternoon at 4.00 pm and seek to help young children learn about the relevance of the Bible to their lives through discussion, activities, drama and instruction. Most of the time, we follow a Bible theme or work through a Bible book or character and apply it to our lives. What about the miracles? What do the parables mean? What’s King David got to do with me?
The groups vary according to the needs of the children, but at present we are running two groups:
CHATTABOX caters for children of junior school age range from year 3 to 5
TALKING SHOP is for children in the top juniors and the lower senior school age range from year 6 to 8
FISHFOOD Fishfood is for young people from year 9 upwards and regularly meets either in the church building or a local home. We look practically at why and how teenagers can live for Jesus in a society where many influences are pulling in the opposite direction.
Anyone aged 15-21 in the area is welcome to The Bridge a regular youth event of food, music, and chilling out, all shaped by our belief the Bible is relevant for all ages.
